1. Customs seizes illegal cigarettes in Oman


Oman Customs has arrested two people and foiled attempts to smuggle quantities of cigarettes into the Sultanate of Oman.

A statement issued online by Oman Customs said :" Hatta port customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle cigarettes by hiding them under the vehicle's fuel tank. Also Khatmat Malaha port customs arrested another person who deliberately hid cigarettes tightly in boxes of laundry soap, in order to evade paying taxes and permit procedures."

2. Five arrested for stealing electrical cables, violating Labour Law in Oman

Five expats have been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for stealing electrical cables and violating the Labour Law in South Al Batinah Governorate.

ROP said in a statement :"The Police Command of South Al Batinah Governorate has arrested five people of Asian nationality on charges of stealing electrical cables and violating the Labour Law. The legal procedures are being completed against them." 

3. Police arrests 10 people for money laundering in Oman

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested ten people on charges of money laundering .

According to the ROP, the General Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation arrested ten people of Arab and African nationalities on charges of money laundering after they withdrew large sums of money from local banks using suspicious bank cards issued by foreign banks. The legal procedures are being completed against them.
