Business rebounds for sweet shops in Oman this Diwali
With the end of the pandemic, all the sweet shop-owners saw a glimmer of hope and revival of sales to the pre-pandemic level.

Muscat: Diwali is a festival associated with lights and sweets. After a long gap of two years, Diwali was celebrated in an atmosphere free from COVID-19.

With the end of the pandemic, all the sweet shop-owners saw a glimmer of hope and revival of sales to the pre-pandemic level.

One of the leading shopkeepers in Muscat, Vajihi, owner and director of Bombay Sweets & Bakery, said: “Thanks to our dear customers and their continued patronage, we celebrated 31st year of our establishment this Diwali.”

“I’d like to convey our sincerest gratitude and wishes to everyone who celebrated this Diwali with us. Their support keeps our business running,” he added.

“We are seeing green shoots of recovery and for local legends like Bombay Sweets, the business is on road to recovery,” Vajihi said, adding that this time they were able to hit their sales target, after months of planning, monitoring and execution.

With the public sentiment and economic demand changing drastically over the last few years, Vajihi said that Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year for the sweets industry, and “it is extremely vital for us to ensure we deliver the best taste, with highest quality and best rates.”

With over 50-plus varieties of sweets, snacks and savoury options, Bombay Sweets offered their customers a few other seasonal favourites this Diwali like Kaju Katli, Rolls, Bon Bons, Cassattas, Toblers etc., Special Ras Malai, Gulab Jamun, etc.
Much to the delight of customers, they received these mouth-watering Indian delicacies with utmost enthusiasm.

“The hope is to continue with the momentum. We strive to deliver our best every single day,” Vajihi added. And as the year comes to a close, we hope many other local businesses just like theirs see similar progress and prosperity.
