Muscat: Normalcy was retrurning with popular messaging service WhatsApp getting restored after its possible "biggest global outage over".
Users in Oman started reporting that the service was being restored and messages were going through. It had stopped working since just around 11am in Oman and other countries. Restoration began by 12.55pm in Oman.
Earlier reports of disruption started coming around 11am in Oman. Most reports were about messages not going through.
Over 2 billion users rely on WhatsApp for communication and payments.
