Participants of hiking event honoured in Oman

Muscat: A ceremony was held on Saturday to honour the winners, participants and organisers of the first hiking event.
The function was held under the auspices of Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrooqi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism.
More than 70 participants from the GCC States and Oman took part in the event.
It aimed at familiarising the participants with the mountain paths in the Muscat Governorate and to revitalise the social heritage across the mountain paths and to promote adventure tourism and entertainment activities.
The walk started from Riyam Park through the mountain path leading to Muttrah Souq, the coastal area and finished at Muscat Gate. The event came as part of the celebrations of the 47th National Day.
