Muscat: Salalah Port, Duqm Port, and the Fishing Port in Duqm have been set up by the Sultanate for docking and inspection of Omani and foreign commercial fishing vessels.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has identified Salalah Port, Duqm Port and the Fishing Port in Duqm as ports for landing and inspections of Omani and foreign commercial fishing vessels that request permission to enter the ports of the Sultanate of Oman."
This came during the issuance of Ministerial Resolution No. 2022/211 based on Royal Decree No. 26/2013 regarding the accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Agreement on Measures Taken by the Port State to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and to the Living Aquatic Wealth Law issued by Royal Decree No. 2019 /20, and Ministerial Resolution No. 16/2021 specifying some ports for landing and inspections of foreign fishing vessels.
