1. Over 200 electronic shishas seized in South Al Batinah
The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized more than 200 electronic shishas at a commercial establishment in the Wilayat Barka in South Al Batinah Governorate.
The seized quantities were confiscated in preparation for their destruction after taking legal measures.
2. Two arrested for stealing in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has arrested two people on charges of stealing sums of money from commercial stores.
Tools and masks they had used in carrying out the thefts were seized from their possession, and the legal procedures are being completed against them.
3. Operation of traffic lights begins at this area in Seeb
The traffic lights were operated at As'Salam roundabout in the Wilayat of Seeb on Thursday, October 20, 2022 to control vehicular traffic at the roundabout, the Muscat Municipality said.
4. Oman participates in Frankfurt Book Fair 2022
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and the Ministry of Information, is participating in the 74th edition of Frankfurt International Book Fair 2022 in Germany. The fair will continue until 23 October 2022.
Oman has always been keen to take part in the fair, as it is one of the largest annual cultural extravaganzas at the European and global level.
5. Details of Woman and Child International Shortfilm Festival unveiled
Oman Film and Theater Society unveiled the details of the Woman and Child International Shortfilm Festival in Muscat, which will be held during the period from 21 to 25 December 2022.
The festival includes two competitions and 11 awards distributed among those competitions, in addition to various cash prizes.
The first competition is on short fiction films, while the second is on short documentary films.
Registration for the competitions begins from 25 October to 25 November 2022.
