Royal Air Force of Oman carries out 2 medical evacuations

Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman carried out two medical evacuations of citizens suffering from critical health conditions in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The Defence Ministry said: “One of the helicopters of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation of a critically ill citizen, and he was transferred from Masirah Hospital in the South Sharqiyah Governorate to Nizwa Hospital in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to receive the necessary specialized treatment.”

Another helicopter carried out a medical evacuation of a critically ill citizen, who was transferred from Masirah Hospital in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate to the Royal Hospital in Muscat Governorate to receive the necessary health care.

The societal responsibility of the Royal Air Force of Oman in the field of health is to provide the health service (the flying doctor), whereby the doctors of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and others travel to all parts of the Sultanate, especially in difficult and mountainous places, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in order to conduct vaccination campaigns for children, and to aid the sick, wounded and injured in road accidents. The Air Force also carries out spraying campaigns to combat insects and locusts that affect green areas and human health.
