Muscat : The comprehensive national survey for vector borne diseases will be launched in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman from Sunday, October 16, 2022 to protect the health of people from epidemic outbreaks.
The Ministry of Health will implement, starting from Sunday, October 16, a comprehensive national survey of disease vectors with the aim of promoting and protecting the health of individuals and society from epidemic outbreaks transmitted by “disease vectors” and creating a database on these vectors and their places of reproduction to be based on inactivating their surveillance to facilitate control operations.
The comprehensive survey, which will be held in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, will include all populated areas throughout the Sultanate of Oman.The survey will also include areas frequented by tourists or areas of work and areas with human activity
The survey may last for a period of 3 months, as the duration of the survey's implementation varies between the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, according to population density and geographical nature.
The daily survey mechanism will be through the distribution of populated places into squares, and the specialised teams will cover those squares. Before entering any site, the specialised team will give a brief overview of the survey mechanism and then collect the required data in a dedicated electronic form.
All places and facilities inside the square will be investigated by a specialised technical team that will collect the required data in a special form for that. The date of surveying the square will also be notified in advance through the accounts of the Ministry of Health and through their excellencies the governors, in order to inform the residents of the square in advance of the date of the visit.
The Ministry of Health invites everyone to cooperate and facilitate the work of the participating specialised teams to carry out this national project to the fullest.
