Sultan Qaboos University holds special celebration to mark 47th National Day

Muscat: High spirits, high flying flags, and high emotions!
The top officials of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) led by its Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, academics and students from all colleges, researchers, administrative, technical and hospital staff gathered in front of the University’s clock tower to celebrate the 47th National Day of the Sulatante of Oman.
The festivities portrayed Oman’s glory, pride, and progression.
The SQU community celebrated the National Day with utmost joy and happiness reiterating their support for further prosperity for the Sultanate and the people.
People carrying Oman’s flags and wearing special shawls and badges reflecting the spirit of their love for Oman and its leader, showed their love and loyalty to the country and took pride in the achievements.
An equestrian show was organised in front of the clock tower. People gathered in front of the board that read “SQU Celebrates” and expressed their joy and excitement. Some of them performed traditional dance forms of Oman.
Students from the Music Department of the College of Arts & Social Sciences performed Omani music.
The Plastic Art Society members exhibited their pieces of art. Apart from the formal celebration, SQU community was keen to celebrate the National Day in their own way.
Most of the offices were decorated with flags and festoons; and colorful lights have been installed. Officials brought specially made sweets and cakes reflecting the mood of festivity, which were distributed to friends, colleagues and visitors.
