Muscat: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers received on Wednesday Dr. Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan.
The meeting came within the framework of the official visit of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Sultanate of Oman.
HH Sayyid Fahd welcomed the Jordanian Prime Minister and wished the relations between both countries further development and growth.
The two sides expressed their keenness on exploring prospects of cooperation in various fields. They also reviewed several regional and international matters and touched on the efforts exerted to spread peace and stability in the region.
HH Sayyid Fahd underscored the importance of the Jordanian monarch’s visit to Oman and the positive impact it will have in serving mutual interests.
In his turn, the Jordanian Prime Minister reiterated the positive impact of the King’s visit to Oman in terms of exchanging views on various matters of common interest. He also lauded Oman’s supportive stance in regional issues and its balanced relations with the whole world. Oman, Al Khasawneh added, is a trusted country that is respected by all.
Al Khasawneh also applauded the development made in Oman which covers various fields.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Sheikh Al Fadhil Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and Sheikh Hilal Marhoun Al Ma’amri, Ambassador of Oman to Jordan.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Jordanian side by Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Amjad Al Qahaiwi, Ambassador of Jordan to Oman.
