Penalty for negligent pet owners in public places :Muscat Municipality

Muscat: A fine of OMR 50 will be imposed on anyone who violates the regulation while taking their pets to public places which is specified by the Muscat Municipality.

"Muscat Municipality has urged people to abide by the following guidelines when taking pets like dogs and cats to public places:

1- Owners of pets are obligated to remove the pet's waste when roaming in public places, taking the necessary precautions to prevent the pet from disposing of waste in these places.

2- Pets taken to public places must wear collars.

3- The pet must be licensed by a competent veterinary authority at the Ministry of Agriculture , fisheries and Water Resources, " the Municipality said in a statement. 

Muscat Municipality added that anyone who violates the regulation is subject to a fine of OMR 50.
