Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) received, on Sunday, the 37th batch of students for the Academic Year 2022/2023, which starts on 11 September.
The total number of students admitted by various colleges of the university in the 37th batch stood at 3,000. The number of study programmes at SQU colleges stood at 61 study besides the primary education specialisation (cycle 1 and 2) which has been introduced for the first time this academic year.
An induction programme for the students of the 37th batch, was organised at the SQU Cultural Centre, yesterday,
The programme aimed to acquaint the students with the various facilities and courses offered by the various centres and units of SQU. It also aimed to acquaint the students with the various cultural and sports activities.
The tests for the foundation programme start on Monday, and continue till 5 September. The familarisation of the colleges with their respective students would be held on Tuesday 6 September to familiarise the students with the various programmes and specialisations and services offered to students.
Dr. Salim bin Hamoud Al Harthy, Deputy to Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Services said that the induction meeting with the students of the 37th batch for the Academic Year 2022/2023 is an opportunity for familiarising the students with the services offered for students in the various specialisations and fields.
He said that SQU aspires to transform the students into leaders for the future. This stage requires the students to gather their efforts and to work hard to benefit from whatever is available for them, he added.
