Indian invasive species threatens local birds: Environment Authority

Salalah: A study conducted by the Environment Authority in the Khor Salalah Nature Reserve in the Governorate of Dhofar showed a dip in the population of local migratory birds and the spread of Indian invasive crow species with a wide nesting area.

As its number spreads in the city of Salalah, it poses an imminent threat to other local and migratory birds.

This study was carried out by the Environment Authority represented by the Environmental Conservation Office in the Governorate of Dhofar on the diversity of birds in the Khor Salalah Nature Reserve. It is one of the important reserves to protect the wetlands species in the Sultanate of Oman due to its location and the natural components it contains.
