Golf enthusiasts enjoy putting practice at The Walk in buildup to NBO Golf Classic Grand Final

Muscat: With the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final 2017 teeing-off on Wednesday, children and their parents flocked to The Walk, Almouj, to put their own putting skills to the test.
The two-day event that took place over the weekend was organised by National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Almouj Golf as part of the drive to turn golf into one of the leading national sports.
The Trick Shot Boys Geoff Swain and Kevin Carpenter were also in attendance, demonstrating their world-class skills to entertain and inspire the next generation of the Sultanate’s potential golfers.
PGA Golf Professionals Marcus Casey and Joshua Thornton were also showing their support, giving children tips on how to become better players.
There are many key life skills and educational benefits that children can learn from golf, including patience, dedication and respect. The sport is quickly becoming one of the most popular in the country, with NBO a key driving force and one of its biggest advocates.
The bank helped to establish Oman as a major hub for golf by introducing the first NBO Golf Classic in 2013, which later became the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final. This year’s event tees-off on November 1 and concludes on November 4.
