Muscat: The children of the Sultanate of Oman participating in the second session of the Arab Parliament for the Child, hosted by the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, achieved an honors degree in the Arab Parliament Diploma for Children for Parliamentary Work Skills, an advanced level, with the participation of 77 trainees representing 17 Arab country.
The programme aims to teach the values and principles of parliamentary work in children and prepare them to be future parliamentarians.
The participants in this programme expressed their happiness with this excellence and graduation, and for obtaining the degree of excellence with honors.
Elias bin Awad Al-Maani said: "We finished the diploma programmes after six months, during which we learned many parliamentary skills, and I offer my thanks to the Arab Parliament and the University of Sharjah."
Kaddass bint Abdullah Al-Riyamiya, Member of Parliament and Vice-Chairman of the Committee on the Rights of the Child in Parliament, said: "After six months of effort, we finished and acquired leadership and problem-solving skills, and other parliamentary skills and tools at the hands of a specialised professor, and we passed the programme in all its stages."
