Road accident: One dead, five injured in Oman

Muscat: An expat has died and five others were injured in a vehicle crash on Thumrait - Haima road, Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.

A statement issued online by ROP said :"Police aviation carried out the process of transporting injured people to Nizwa Hospital, after they were involved in a traffic accident due to the explosion and deterioration of the vehicle tyre on the Thumrait - Haima road. The accident resulted in the death of one person and the injury of five others of Asian nationality with injuries."

One injured in fuel truck accident

Muscat: In another incident a person has been slightly injured in a fuel truck accident in the Wilayat of Sur, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

"The authority's teams in the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate responded to the accident of the deterioration of a fuel tanker in the Wilayat of Sur. The teams secured the site and controlled the leaking substance, as the accident resulted in a light injury to the driver, " CDAA said in a statement.
