Wise policy adopted by Sultan Qaboos praised by Iran foreign minister

Muscat: Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs hailed the wise policy being adopted by the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, as well as His Majesty’s constructive role in the region, which faces several challenges.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Zarif affirmed that both countries are bound by good relations. He added that they endeavour to expand these relations in different fields particularly in economy, energy and transit fields.
Zarif pointed out that his visit comes within the framework of the continuous consultation with the Sultanate about a range of issues of concern to the region.
As for transporting the Iranian gas to India through the Sultanate, he pointed out that the trilateral meetings recently held in New York with the Minster Responsible for Foreign Affairs and the Indian Minister of External Affairs discussed cooperation in energy and gas fields.
They also discussed the possibility of tripartite cooperation in gas fields. He hoped that cooperation among these countries would be maintained.
As for the nuclear file, Zarif pointed out that the Sultanate has played a major role in the recent accord.
He noted that Iran does not have communication channels with the current US administration.
He explained that coordination is maintained through the ministerial meetings only, within the framework of the P5+1 Group.
He hoped that the US Administration would commit to this agreement.
