Four arrested for illegal fishing in Oman

Muscat: A fishing boat has been seized and four people were arrested for using illegal fishing nets and for fishing in a prohibited area in Dhofar Governorate.

"The fisheries control team in the Governorate of Dhofar seized a fishing boat in the Wilayat of Taqa , with four fishermen on board using hedge nets without a license and in an unauthorised area. The legal procedures have been taken against the violators," the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate said in a statement.
