Muscat: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority issued an alert after there were videos and photos on social media of some people risking their lives while crossing flooded valleys.
In the last 24 hours, the Wilayat of Al Hamra recorded the highest amount of precipitation amounting to 67 mm, followed by Bahla Wilayat with 49 mm, 27 mm in Al Mudhaibi and 8 mm in Ibra, according to the ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Water Resource.
In the alert, CDAA said: "The authority followed the videos circulated on social media about some people staying near valleys and dams, swimming during rain and the flow of valleys, and risking crossing them with their vehicles, endangering their lives and the lives of others."
Accordingly, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority calls upon citizens and residents to strictly adhere to the instructions and alerts issued by the competent authorities in order to preserve the safety of all.
