Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has rescued eight citizens after their boats broke down at sea.
According to ROP, the Coast Guard police boats in the governorates of Musandam and Dhofar provided assistance to the crew of two fishing boats, after their engines failed at sea. The two boats were towed and their crew of eight citizens was brought to the shore. All of whom are in good health.
ROP calls on boat owners and sea-goers to carry out periodic maintenance of their boats, use appropriate means of communication and navigation devices, accompany public safety requirements, and survey the state of the sea through meteorology.
