Paris: Top seed Iga Swiatek of Poland clinched her second French Open title after beating American teenager Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-3 in the final here on Saturday.
The victory also helped the world No.1 to extend her winning streak to 35 matches, equalling the 21st-century record held by retired American player Venus Williams.
Swiatek has only dropped one set in her run to the final. She also won at Roland Garros in 2020, when she defeated another American Sofia Kenin in the final, 6-4, 6-1.
