Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,129.83 points, up by 0.34 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.11 per cent at 463.73 points.
Oman & Emirates Investment, up 9.3 per cent, was the top gainer while, Oman National Engineering, down 1.87 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 547 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.55 million, with more than 8.82 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded securities, 15 advanced, 11 declined, and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers of OMR218,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers of OMR52,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,581.64 points, up 0.36 per cent. Prices of Oman & Emirates Investment, Taageer Finance, Sohar International Bank, Oman United Insurance and National Bank Oman were up by 9.3 per cent, 3.37 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 0.59 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Anwar Investment and Oman Qatar Insurance were down by 1.12 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,027.03 points, down 0.04 per cent. Prices of A'Saffa Foods, Construction Materials, Gulf Mushroom Products, National Aluminium and Voltamp Energy were up by 3.33 per cent, 2.15 per cent, 1.26 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.97 per cent respectively. Prices of Jazeera Steel Products, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down by 1.1 per cent, 0.93 per cent, 0.81 per cent and 0.6 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.43 per cent before closing at 1,588.68 points. Prices of Al Maha Marketing and Al Jazeera Services were up by 3.85 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively. Prices of Oman National Engineering, Dhofar Generating, OIFC and National Gas were down by 1.87 per cent, 1.64 per cent, 0.69 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
