Fatah Al Khair Centre, a cultural and historic landmark in Oman

Muscat: The Fatah Al Khair Centre in the Wilayat of Sur in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is one of the most cultural and historic landmarks representing the maritime heritage of the Wilayat.

 "Fatah Al Khair Centre was opened in November 2021, it is a cultural and educational destination for visitors to the wilayat. The centre displays the holdings of the Maritime Museum, which was opened in its first phase in 1988 with the aim of highlighting the aspects of the social and navigational life of the Wilayat of Sur," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

The centre represents an opportunity to learn about marine life and the tools that were used in the manufacture of historical ships and the types of traditional ships and how they were made, their usage as well as insight into the sailors who lived in the era.
