Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,116 points, down by 0.54 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.28 per cent at 463.23 points.
United Finance, up 5.38 per cent, was the top gainer while, A'Saffa Foods, down 4.46 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Bank Dhofar were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Renaissance Services were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 644 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR5.46 million, with more than 26.28 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 6 advanced, 15 declined, and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers of OMR211,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,557.93 points, down 0.54 per cent. Prices of United Finance and National Bank Oman were up by 5.38 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. Prices of Takaful Oman, National Finance, Bank Muscat, Sohar International Bank and Dhofar Insurance were down by 3.23 per cent, 2.52 per cent 2.22 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 1.58 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,029.73 points, down 0.41 per cent. Construction Materials was the only gainer up by 4.49 per cent. Prices of A'Saffa Foods, National Aluminium, Galfar Engineering, Jazeera Steel Products and Raysut Cement were down by 4.46 per cent, 3.06 per cent, 1.82 per cent, 1.62 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.07 per cent before closing at 1,581.89 points. Prices of OIFC and Oman Oil Marketing were up by 0.7 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. There were no losers for the day.
