Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has stressed strict implementation of the decision banning working at construction sites and open areas during the mid-day/noon hours from June to August in accordance with the agreed upon terms and conditions.
To this end, the Ministry of Labour would continue with the awareness campaigns at the beginning of each summer in the future.
The Ministry of Labour also stressed the significance of cooperation of the companies and establishments in provision of all safety and occupational health supplies for their manpower.
Sheikh Nasr bin Amer Al Hosni, Undersecretary for Labour at the Ministry of Labour said that the ministry would continue with the efforts of reactivation of the campaign on heat stress during the current year and suspending of work during the prohibited hours from 12:30pm to 3:30pm during June, July and August on a daily basis in the open areas wherein workers may be exposed to direct heat.
He also said that the Ministry of Labour would continue to work on dissemination of awareness and protection of safety and occupational health in the Sultanate of Oman for achieving the objectives of human development.
