Muscat: The restrictions in places at Mosques, including physical distancing and the ban on holding religious events at full capacity has been lifted. People will now be able to choose if they want to wear masks, a senior official from the Supreme Committee in charge to deal with Covid-19 said.
The official said that since social distancing and mask mandates have been canceled, everyone, including children under the age of 12 years, can enter mosques, churches and temples.
He also stressed that religious events, such as offering condolences or engagement ceremonies in mosques can be held with full capacity. “Wearing mask will be a choice made on the person’s own assessment of the situation, especially in places where there are gatherings.”
