London: Based the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultanate, represented by the Royal Cavalry at the Diwan of Royal Court, participated in the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the United Kingdom.
The event was organised on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth.
On a Royal invitation, over 500 horses and 1,000 horse riders, musicians, artists and representatives from various countries have participated in the event.
The Royal Cavalry showcased its traditional horse arts common in the Sultanate of Oman. The Royal Cavalry also played pieces of Omani and international music on the first day of the event.
Dr. Sarhan Salim Al Zaidi, Director General of the Royal Cavalry, said that the Sultanate’s participation in the Royal Windsor Horse Show came on an official invitation for participating in the show followed by communication with the organising committee of the show.
“We were keen to showcase the cultural heritage of the Sultanate in this international event,” he said, adding that such shows contribute to exchange of expertise among the participants.
