Eid Al Adha holidays announced in Oman

Muscat: Eid al-Adha holidays have been announced for residents in Oman.

The holidays will begin on Thursday, August 31 and end on Monday, September 4 for both public and private sector workers.
"Eid holidays for the private sector are set to start on Thursday, August 31 until Monday, September 4," according to a statement from the Ministry of Manpower.
Work will resume on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
Meanwhile, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al-Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, released a statement regarding holidays for the public sector.
"On the occasion of the blessed Eid Al Adha 1438 AH, and as per the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Eid holiday for employees at the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state's administrative apparatus will be from Thursday, 9th Dhul Hijjah 1438 AH corresponding to 31st, August 2017 till Monday 13th Dhul Hijjah 1438 AH corresponding to 4th September 2017. Work will resume on Tuesday 5th September 2017.
"The Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court extended his congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said on this blessed occasion, praying to the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty for many years to come and the Omani people and our dear country further progress and welfare under His Majesty's wise leadership and all Muslims prosperity and blessings," the statement read.
Arafa Day which is 9th Dhul Hijja, 1438 AH shall be on Thursday, 31 August 2017. Therefore, Friday, 10th Dhul Hijja, 1438 AH — corresponding to 1 September 2017 — is the first day of Eid Al Adha.
