Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority has developed a vision to increase the capacity and the number of operational hours at Sohar Airport.
Within the framework of the visit of His Excellency M. Nayef bin Ali Al Abri - Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and his accompanying team at Sohar Airport, the second workshop on logistical connectivity and integration in the Governorate of North Al Batinah was organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the Wilayat of Sohar. The Civil Aviation Authority has developed a vision that includes the following:
1- Motivating national airlines to operate their flights from Sohar Airport
2- Enhancing the airport's capacity by improving the current infrastructure of the airport to provide capacity for targeted flights, better accommodating travellers and increasing operational working hours to include the night period.
3- Examining opportunities for linkage and integration between the airports of the Sultanate of Oman, land transport and ports.
