Muscat: The number of visitors to the Land of Frankincense sites in the Governorate of Dhofar during the 1st quarter of 2022 stood at 17,155 compared to 16,679 visitors in the same period of 2021, according to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar.
The number of visitors to Al Baleed Archeological Park and the Museum of the Frankincense Land reached 8,005 visitors during the 1st quarter of 2022, while the visitors of Samahram Archeological Site stood at 3,911. Moreover, the number of visitors to the Wbar Archeological Site reached 5,239.
The Al Baleed Archeological Park, Samahram, Wbar and the Wadi Dokka archeological sites are registered on the World Heritage List under the name “Land of Frankincense” sites.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, represented by the Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Dhofar, develops the sites and provides them with service and aesthetic facilities to serve the goals of cultural and archeological tourism in the governorate.
