Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,143.02 points, up by 0.13 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.32 per cent at 476.33 points.
Dhofar Generating Company, up by 9.09 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman Fisheries, down by 4.26 per cent, was the top loser. Galfar Engineering & Contracting was the most active in terms of the number of units traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 710 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR3.36 million, with more than 18.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 50 traded securities, 12 advanced, 15 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
Financial Index closed at 6,636.84 points, up by 0.03 per cent. Prices of Sohar International Bank and Bank Muscat were up by 1.83 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Anwar Investment, Ahli Bank and Al Sarqia Investment were down by 2.06 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,998.93 points, unchanged over the previous close. Prices of Jazeera Steel Products and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 1.55 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Maha Ceramics and Oman Cement were down by 1.68 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.010 per cent before closing at 1,615.81 points. Prices of Al Jazeera Services, National Gas and Oman Investment & Finance were down by 2.41 per cent, 0.72 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively.
