Khasab: The geographic location of Musandam Governorate contributed to strengthening the economic relations between the Sultanate and the neighbouring countries.
It also contributed to achievement of the socio-economic development and to the increase of standard of living and optimal utilisation and management of natural and cultural aspects in the Governorate.
Ali bin Ahmed Al Ma’ashani, Director general of the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Musandam Governorate said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the urban strategy in Musandam Governorate copes with the foundations of the Governorate and is in consistent with the comprehensive urban strategy.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has allocated a number of projects as promising, he said, adding that this included locations and lands for free zones in Musandam Governorate and other areas for renewable energy projects.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has since 2021 allocated, within the urban strategy, areas for establishment of fisheries projects, he added.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has conducted a comprehensive study for the courses of the wadis in Musandam Governorate in order to identify certain areas for construction of dams, he said.
The value of real estate traded in Musandam Governorate amounted to more than OMR15 million in 2021 and the real estate fees collected stood at OMR600,000, he said.
