Muscat: An international consortium comprised of OQ, InterContinental Energy and EnerTech on Monday announced further progress on the development of the Green Energy Oman (GEO) integrated green fuels mega
project.
The project targets producing 25 gigawatts (GW) of renewable solar and wind energy, which will be used to produce over 1.5 million tons of zero-carbon green hydrogen per annum.
Najla Zuhair Al Jamali, Executive Manager of Alternative Energy at OQ said that GEO is at the vanguard of mega-scale green fuels projects, which will make Oman at the forefront of countries that implement similar projects.
The project will utilise Oman’s natural resources of wind and solar to produce green fuels.
