11 arrested in Oman for drug abuse, possession of illegal tobacco

Muscat: Multiple arrests have been made in Ad Dakhalia governorate involving abuse and possession of narcotics, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
"The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department, under the leadership of the Ad Dakhalia police, arrested 10 defendants in cases of abuse and possession of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and seized a quantity of cannabis and morphine," a source at the ROP said.
In another case, the Criminal Investigations Department of the Adam police station managed to arrest an Asian national on charges of possession and sale of prohibited materials in a house in the state of Adam.
"The ROP seized 18 bags of loose tobacco, 28 boxes and 12 cartons of cigarettes," according to the ROP.
All legal proceedings have been taken and the accused have been referred to Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal action.
