Oman tourism: Half a million visitors in three months at Salalah Festival

Muscat: Over half a million people visited Salalah for the Khareef Festival as of Sunday, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The government department has announced that the data will measure visitors to Salalah from June 21st until September 21st, the official Khareef season dates.

Last month, the NCSI also revealed that over half of Salalah's visitors were Omani citizens, with estimated visitors at 55,835 Omanis out of 102,234 total visitors.

According to the 2016 survey report, Omanis made up 74 per cent of the total number of visitors last year.
