Urgent appeal made for platelet donation in Oman

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) has made an urgent appeal to people with B+ blood type to donate platelets today at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar.

"Due to the existence of a sick patient in immediate need of platelet transfusion and for the depletion of the stock of platelets for type B+, we appeal to the holders of this type to donate platelets at the Central Blood Bank in Baushar," DBBS said in a statement.
