Muscat: The Omani football team defeated its Vietnamese counterpart in the final Asian qualifiers, qualifying for the 2022 World Cup Qatar. Saudi Arabia and Japan from the same group also qualified for the 2022 World Cup Qatar.

The Oman national football team beat its Vietnamese counterpart 1-0 in the second group matches of the final Asian qualifiers.

Saudi Arabia qualified for the Qatar World Cup 2022 finals for the sixth time in its history, topped the group, along with Japan, which defeated Australia 2-0.
