Three tonnes of 'unfit' meat destroyed by Salalah municipality agency

Muscat: A mountain of rotten meat has been seized and destroyed in Salalah.
Three tonnes of meat was destroyed by Dhofar Municipality after it was deemed unfit for human consumption.
An inspection carried out by the Dhofar municipality in Salalah's main slaughterhouse found 59 slaughtered animals were not fit for consumption out of a total of 6,018 slaughtered animals.
This comes as a result of the municipality's continuous efforts to ensure that the slaughtered meat is free of disease, in order to preserve the health and safety of society, the municipality reported.
