Oman transport: Mwasalat bus routes to Muscat hospitals soon

Muscat: Major Muscat hospitals will soon be connected to bus routes in the city, according to the Sultanate’s public transport provider, Mwasalat.
“We are already serving Al Nahdha hospital and next year, we plan to connect with Royal Hospital and Khoula Hospital,” Ahmed Albulushi, CEO, Mwasalat, said in an online statement.
A Mwasalat spokesman said these hospitals will be added as a part of route network extensions. “It will be not a dedicated service but some routes will be extended to cater to these hospitals,” the official said. With a growth rate of 48.5 per cent, Mwasalat transported more than 2.2 million passengers in the first half of 2017.

Last year, 8,000 passengers were estimated to have taken the bus on a daily basis, compared with 12,000 this year.
