Muscat Governorate reviews solutions to deal with rain water, traffic congestion

Muscat: A meeting was held at the Muscat Governorate’s General Court to review solutions to deal with rain water and traffic congestion.

The meeting was held in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of State and the Governor of Muscat, members of the Shura Council, representatives of the governorate’s states, His Excellency the Deputy Governor and His Excellency the Mayor of Muscat Municipality, and their Excellencies from the Muscat Municipality.

Plans to implement projects of valley drainage channels, networking water drainage in residential neighborhoods, implementing protection dams projects, updating and preparing flood risk maps, which include valleys and depressions in the governorate were discussed.

The meeting had three visual presentations on topics related to the system of addressing the risks of valleys and low-lying areas, solutions related to congestion and traffic jams, and the most prominent investment projects in the governorate.

 Engineer Asia Al-Maskari from Muscat Municipality, talked about the most important projects of the governorate to ward off flood risks and treat rainwater in the governorate's wilayats, and the results reached by the team formed in studies related to this aspect.

Engineer Muhammad Al Hosani from Muscat Municipality, discussed the summary of studies conducted in relation to developing solutions to address congestion and traffic jams in the governorate.
