Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will be hosting the training camps for a number of qualified teams for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, said: “The directives of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth emphasised interest in investment, marketing, encouragement of opportunities in the sports sector, and communication with companies to support sports institutions and clubs."
His Excellency stated that there is coordination with the Omani Football Association to attract a group of qualified teams to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to set up camps for them before the start of the tournament, and the sports facilities for these teams have been prepared according to international standards.
His Excellency added: "There are many opportunities for investment in the sports sector, and sports is a promising market in general, and we need to activate various elements, including the government, the media, clubs, sports institutions and schools. All these elements must be integrated and harmonised to have a clear vision."
