According to the Government Communication Centre (GC), Oman is the seventh-best tourist destination in the world due to its environmental richness, biodiversity and unique series of reserves.
The Sultanate has many natural reserves that include a variety of wildlife and marine life, including Daymaniyat Islands Reserve which is considered the best place for diving and snorkeling to see sharks, whales, dolphins and coral reefs. Al Saleel Natural Park is one of the largest sites in the Middle East, which is considered a habitat for the Arabian gazelle. Khor Salalah Reserve is the best place to see the birds in the Sultanate.
Oman also enjoys Jabal Samhan Nature Reserve, which is the habitat for the Arabian leopard. It is located in the Governorate of Dhofar. Green turtles also nest on the sandy beaches of the reserve.
