Muscat: The next leg of Oman’s qualification run for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India will begin on 5th March 2022. The squad landed in the UAE on March 3rd and will play 5 ODIs - two against the hosts and three against Namibia, as part of the ICC Men’s CWC League 2.
Head Coach and Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket, Duleep Mendis said,” We are excited to get started with these next set of ODI fixtures to try and extend our lead at the top of the qualification table. Both our opponents in this five-game stretch are strong sides and we have to put in high-quality performances on a consistent basis to come out on top. As a group, we are aware that we have not played our best cricket over the past month. After a run of home fixtures, adapting to a different set of conditions will also be a challenge. But it is one that we relish and by making the right adjustments, one that we are confident of conquering”.
Oman currently holds a 14-point advantage at the top of the table over second-placed Scotland, having played 11 games more.
