Muscat: ‘Shabab Oman II’, the Royal Navy of Oman Vessel (RNOV), welcomed the President of Lithuania to its ship during cultural festivities in the country. During its international voyage, themed ‘Sail of Friendship and Peace’ to Europe and the Baltic Sea, the ‘Shabab Oman II’ has anchored in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Massive crowds were seen flocking to the ship and attending the Omani cultural dances and activities. Lithuania’s President, Dalia Grybauskaitė, also visited the ship. She looked through the photo gallery on board the ship, signed the guest book, as well as exchanged pleasantries with the ship’s crew. The RNOV ‘Shabab Oman II’ has been organising several cultural activities and training programmes in the countries it visits. Among the ship’s goals during its voyage is to disseminate the Omani message of love, friendship and peace among the visiting countries’ people. The voyage also aims to revive the glories of ancient Omani marine history and its bright present at international marine festivals and regattas that the vessel will take part during its journey.
