Muscat: Three people have died and 12 more were injured after a three-vehicle collision in Oman, according to police.
The accident, in Al Dakhiliyah, left three dead and many injured after two of the vehicles burst into flames, according to a statement by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

"An accident involving three vehicles occurred at 8pm yesterday with a fire outbreak among two of the vehicles in the area of Qurn Al Alam in Wilayat Adam in Al Dakhiliyah," the ROP said.
Nine Saudi Arabian family members, six members of a UAE family and two Omanis were involved in the crash, according to local authorities.
The Emirati mother and son as well and the grandmother of the Saudi Arabian driver died.
According to Nizwa Hospital, the 12 injured have light to serious non life-threatening injuries and were all rushed to medical facilities for treatment last night.
