Muscat: More than 300 marriage requests with foreigners were received by the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) in three months.
The statistics issued by the Ministry of Social Development revealed that the total number of marriage requests between Omanis and foreigners during only three months from July 1,2021 till September 30, 2021 amounted to 326, which included 310 requests for males and 16 requests for females.
The Governorate of North Al Batinah recorded the highest rate of marriage requests with 97, the Governorate of Muscat came in second place with a rate of 83 requests, then the Governorate of Dhofar with 35 requests.
The Governorate of South Al Batinah registered 28 requests, 27 in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 18 in Al Dhahirah Governorate , 12 in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate . Al Buraimi Governorate recorded 11 requests , ten in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate , four in Musandam Governorate and single request in Al Wusta Governorate
The total number of cancelled or incomplete applications reached 52. The Ministry received 115 requests from single men, 12 from single women, 106 from divorced men and five from divorced women. The Ministry also received 48 requests from married men, 39 requests from widower and one request from a widow.
For the age group of 20 to 29 years, 28 requests were submitted, 75 requests were submitted from the age group of 30 to 39 years , 107 requests from the age group of 40 to 49 and 44 requests from the age group of 50 to 59 years. The number of marriage requests for the age group of 60 to 69 years old, amounted to 48 and 24 requests for the age group of 70 and over
