•Slow down rotting: Store tomatoes stem end down to keep them from spoiling as quickly. Storing them at room temperature rather than in the fridge also makes them last longer.

•Give bananas a longer life: Keep bananas fresher, longer by wrapping the end of the bunch with plastic wrap. For better results separate each banana. The plastic wrap blocks ripening the fruit too fast.

•While grinding red chilli powder, add a little mustard oil to it to get a bright red colour.

•It is much easier to grind small cardamom if you add some sugar to it while grinding.
