Ramadan announced in Oman

Muscat: It has been announced that Saturday, the 27th of May, will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Oman.
The Main Committee of New Moon Sighting at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs released a statement that they had received reports of the moon being sighted in a number of governorates in Oman on Friday evening. The statement read, "Therefore, tomorrow Saturday will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan 1438H."
The Ministry also sent congratulations and blessings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the advent of the holy month, and congratulated the Omani people and the Islamic Ummah.
