‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ star Haitham Rafi to be honoured

Muscat: Haitham Mohammed Rafi of ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ fame will be honoured by the Indian embassy in Oman next week.

Rafi, who was the ultimate winner of India’s popular reality TV show ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ will be felicitated by the Indian Ambassador to Oman, Indramani Pandey at an Indian Bollywood Musical Evening to be held at the Indian embassy premises.

Dil Hai Hindustani had many singing talents from around the world including from the USA and Russia. But it was Haitham’s soulful voice that appeared to have won hearts of Indian music fans.

The show’s judges included filmmaker Karan Johar, music director Shekhar Ravjiani, rapper Badshah and singer Shalmali Kholgade.



Haitham’s father, Mohammed Rafi, who is also a well-known singer, has been his mentor.

Haitham has lived among Indians and Pakistanis since childhood, and learnt some Hindi and Urdu. He also watched many Hindi movies, and developed his interest in Hindi music.
