Muscat : A tropical depression has been observed over the Arabian Sea on Sunday, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said.
"The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre weather analysis indicates that a tropical depression has been observed East - Central of Arabian Sea today (Sunday 7th November 2021). Located at longitude 67.5 E and latitude 14.0 N with estimated surface wind speed around the centre at 21-27 knots (40-50 km/hour),” CAA said in a statement
It is expected to maintain intensity as a depression and move west to southwest towards the Horn of Africa with no impact over the Sultanate during the next 72 hours.
The sea state will be moderate along coasts of Arabian Sea and with maximum wave height of 2.0 metres.
The Civil Aviation Authority advised all to take precautions during rain.
